Nicholas Zimmer's Biography

In the beginning

The most vivid recollection from my childhood is standing in a goverment food line with my mother. The big blocks of cheese and Spam made me feel shame. I was there to read and write for her, as she was not literate. My Father died of Cancer when I was four. His last words to me were “Nicholas, you are now the man of the family and you must take care of your Mother and sister”. I now understand that he was trying to inspire me. But he unwittingly set me up for a life of neurotic behavior.

I’ve now know that the neurotic personality assumes too much responsibility. It took way to many years for me to gain this insight. Without the physical setbacks I have experienced, I may never have figured it out. My compromise of mental and spiritual awareness dramatically contributed to my physical problems. My greatest strength has always been my mental ability to overcome all obstacles.

My body stumbled before my mind. Along the way I became aware of the Mind, Body, Spirit, connection to complete health. This is the primary message I would like to share. I have begun to understand what True Healers have known for centuries and most modern physicians no longer practice. Drugs and surgeries are great in some cases, but the human body is self healing given the proper stimuli.

Medical Doctors like Alan Sault,and Mark Holthouse who have the courage to leave their lucrative traditional practices, and pursue the greater good in Integrative Medicine are the noble pioneers of holistic health. Dr. Sault’s wife, Jennifer Sault MS/EDS, NCC is also a gifted therapist. She specializes in Guided Imagery, and has taught me many important lessons:

• The benefits of meditation
• The Chakra system
• The importance of energy medicine and human consciousness

All of which led me to redesign the Trinity pendant and earring I originally designed for Kelli Bollettieri and later Andre Agassi. The original Trinity represents pure eternal love for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The new Mind Body Spirit line is a little wider in the sides to accommodate the words; and to help them stand out I added a colored enamel finish. Basic rainbow colors are standard,but The seven Chakra colors are very prominent,and symbolic colors. I can also mix almost any color. The pendant can also be worn backwards for a solid gold look which resembles the original Trinity.

Reflecting on my life to date, I feel that I’ve been able to get a lot done despite my humble beginning. I have aligned my will to the needs of specific situations, at times being very willful, and at times taking too much responsibility. I now accept that. My true gift is the ability to see a need and not rest until the task is complete. I am grateful for this gift, but it can be a real burden.

Tennis is something I can never learn enough about. That is probably what makes me a good Tennis educator. I learn from each student and am challenged by every lesson. It's been my good fortune to be associated with some of the best players and coaches in the game: names like Agassi, Courier, Wheaton, Bollettieri are just a few. I learned a lot from my good friend Jimmy Aries, Mary Pierce, Monica Seles, and hundreds of other top pros. Player coaches like Sammy Aviles, my mentor, Good friend, Tennis director of The Colony Beach, Tennis Resort. More recent coaches Martin Sumpft, and Egan Adams, basketball coach Dick Vitale, and the great Bud Collins.

Wow, I’m a lucky guy…. A little neurotic, but fortunate in many ways. All because my father laid impossible responsibilities on a bewildered four year old. My own journey has led me to understand that I have been trying to live up to his expectations all these years. There’s a better way for me to live…a way of life that is critical to my health, sanity and spiritual growth. I had to get sick to discover it. Maybe you don’t. Mind, Body, Spirit.....
